BEHIND THE LENS with alabama wedding photographer
I've cried at over a hundred weddings.
Still not sorry about it.
I'm Sarah — wife, mom of four, and someone who still gets a little emotional at ceremonies.
After ten years and nearly a hundred weddings, I've stopped thinking of photography as documentation. I think of it as preservation. The people we love are everything, and it's my job to capture the moments you share with them.
My approach is simple: intimacy without intrusion. The most honest images happen when you forget I'm there — when I'm watching, not directing. The look on your partner's face before they knew anyone was looking. The way your grandmother held your hand before you walked down the aisle. Those are the moments I'm after, and you can't manufacture them.
I believe photographs are one of the only things we leave behind that actually tell the truth. Not the highlight reel. The real thing.
I'm based in Auburn, Alabama and photograph weddings and families across the Southeast — Atlanta, Savannah, 30A, and wherever else couples invite me. Over a decade in, I still show up to every wedding like it's the only one that matters.
Because for that couple, it is.
My APPROACH IS SIMPLY THIS:
My style is natural light, true-to-color, and grounded in real moments — not manufactured ones. I'm not going to make you pose until it feels awkward, and I'm not going to miss your dad's face when he sees you for the first time.
What I will do is show up prepared, stay calm when things run late (they always run late), and quietly move through your day capturing the parts you'll actually want to remember.
I draw a lot of inspiration from European photography — the looseness of it, the light, the way it lets people just be rather than perform. That's what I'm always chasing: images that feel less like a photoshoot and more like a memory.

Is this you?
You want a wedding that actually feels like you — and photos you'll still love in twenty years. You care about good light and real moments more than you care about having every shot perfectly orchestrated. You're not the couple who needs 47 formal portraits — you'd rather have a handful of stunning ones and a gallery full of moments that actually happened.
You want a photographer who's going to take care of you — someone who's done this enough times to handle whatever the day throws at her, and who genuinely cares about how your photos turn out.
If that sounds right, I'd love to hear about your wedding.
